Your Naughty Cake will arrive in a standard US Postal mail envelope (either Express or Priority).
It is seal in an air-tight plastic package to keep it fresh. The envelope will also contain a
cardboard backing to protect the decoration from being bent, and an instruction sheet similar
to these. Finally, you may also receive some Naughty Cake promotional materials that we would
love for you to share with any interested participants at your party!
You should leave your Naughty Cake decoration in the air-tight plastic sleeve, the cardboard
envelope and at room temperature until you are ready to apply the decoration to your cake. The
platic protects the decoration from being exposed to air which can cause the decoration to dry-out
and become brittle. The Cardboard envelope protects your Naughty Cake from being bent and direct
sunlight (which can also cause it to become dried-out and brittle. And finally NEVER REFRIGERATE
your Naughty Cake decoration!! Refrigeration or coldness will cause your image to darken! If these
instructions are followed, your Naughty Cake should last for a month or more.
Application
You should apply the NaughtyCake decoration to the cake approximately 2-3 hours prior to eating for
best results. By allowing the decoration to sit on the cake for a couple of our prior to cutting,
the decoration will actually "melt" into the existing icing of the cake and will be easier to cut
through. You certainly CAN apply the decoration immediately before serving, you will just have to
be more careful as you cut through the decoration.
- Remove the decoration from the cardboard envelope.
- Carefully cut open the air-tight plastic sleeve at the top with a pair of scissors.
- Slide the decoration out of the plastic sleeve.
- Size your Naughty Cake decoration by holding over the cake. It is not unusual for the
decoration to need a "trimming" to fit your cake.
- If trimming is needed, simply take a pair of scissors and cut the decoration to the necessary
size.
- Once the proper size has been achieved, carefully peel the decoration from it's laminated
backing and apply to the cake!
We feel that your cake is best if left with just the Naughty Cake decoration. However, feel free
to add additional decorations!
